![]() The crafting is good and the weapons are classic Metro style as always so that is something. Graphically however, it is really well presented. I also think that 30 fps probably does not help, as the other two games were re-released at 60 - the downgrade was jarring for me. The dialogue and line delivery feels very half baked, and everyone is always talking over each other, making conversations hard to listen to. The stealth does not work well as a result of the stiff movement. It really took me out of enjoying the experience. The traversal around the environment feels incredibly unpolished - Artyom feels like he flies down flights of stairs, and then slows down to a snail’s pace if he’s in a patch of tall grass. I thoroughly enjoyed the remasters of 2033 and Last Light, however something is just not gelling here and it is frustrating. I unfortunately could not get into this game. I can regrettably only give 4 stars on this which is maybe on the generous side, with the feeling that Cyberpunk or the new Doom is even more anticipated now. I get its a large content game but look at FarCry5 New Dawn, which achieves more with less. ![]() The loading as well is at times, incredibly slow. My gripe is that despite a more open world feel as opposed to the somewhat linear nature of the 360 rework, the graphics have not really given it too much more in the way of improvement, being too 'dystopian' a feel (it switches between snowy wasteland and gloomy interior and even though set in a post nuclear era, I would think despite that factor, some colour would remain somewhere, everything looks overly 'washed out') and this takes away from the game as a whole in my opinion (it is after all, an entertainment game, there is a bit too much realism in the world at times). Set in a 2030's Russia and based on a dystopian novel of the same bent, I bought this because I originally bought the Metro 2033 rework from the 360 to the xbox1 which was OK and so I expected more from a dedicated console release.
